Blessed abundantly by nature, Uganda captivates with its stunning lush vegetation, lakes, plains and vast savannas. Known for its mountain gorillas, chimpanzees and the famous African Big 5, this country is undoubtedly a premier destination for a safari getaway. It's no wonder it's nicknamed « The Pearl of Africa ». If the desire to discover Africa calls to you, there's no need to search further or hunt for hidden treasures: Uganda is the continent's pearl.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

  Uganda's Most Beautiful Safaris

Begin your African adventure in the impenetrable forest of Bwindi in Uganda, whose worldwide reputation speaks for itself. This is where you'll have the privilege of meeting the last 340 mountain gorillas, representing nearly half of this species worldwide. You're invited to experience gorilla habituation in human contact and become familiar with them. The most daring will take on the challenge of seeking the famous « silverback » during their safari in the park.

Also a haven for birdlife, the Bwindi forest located along the border between Uganda and the DRC (Democratic Republic of Congo) also promises enchanting encounters with birds. Enrich your safari by discovering chimpanzees, harnesses antelopes, forest elephants, African golden cats, rare hog deer… of the park.

Murchison Falls National Park

  Uganda's Most Beautiful Safaris

Add the visit to Murchison Falls National Park to your Uganda travel itinerary. It's the must-see destination for a safari to encounter the African Big 5.

One of this destination's masterpieces is Murchison Falls, offering a breathtaking natural landscape. What could be more exhilarating than a land-and-water safari! Here, you can enjoy a leisurely cruise on the Nile and spot crocodiles and hippopotamuses. Another important detail: Murchison Falls National Park, located in northwestern Uganda, on the shores of Lake Albert, spans over 3,800 km², making it the country's largest park. How could you miss visiting such a destination during an African journey. You can choose between a 4x4 safari or a walking safari, the latter being most recommended for spotting numerous animals.

Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

  Uganda's Most Beautiful Safaris

Another Uganda must-see, the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary invites you on Rhino Trekking lasting 1.5 to 2.5 hours, the region's famous walking safari. What a privilege to roam through the savanna of Uganda's unique site where white rhinos can be found, a species on the brink of extinction! Fear not for your safety, as rangers from RFU (Rhino Fund Uganda) will accompany you. You'll see them up close (minimum 6 m).

It's also possible to enjoy a night safari to observe aardvarks or even leopards. To enhance your stay in the area, a nature walk or a canoe trip will do you a world of good. It's also a perfect opportunity to observe the local birdlife.

Queen Elisabeth National Park

    Uganda's Most Beautiful Safaris

In terms of avian wealth, Queen Elisabeth National Park is number one across all of East Africa, hosting 612 bird species. You'll find fish eagles, herons, storks, marabous, crowned cranes and more. Some safari enthusiasts make it their quest to spot the elusive shoebill stork. Queen Elisabeth National Park also offers warm encounters with giant mountain hogs, magnificent Uganda Kob antelopes, herds of elephants and abundant hippopotamuses… enriching your Uganda journey.

This magnificent African destination is also renowned for containing one of the world's greatest biodiversities. Its varied landscapes capture the hearts of countless visitors. The park harmoniously alternates between savanna, tropical forest, papyrus swamps and lakes nestled in extinct volcanic craters.

Many testify that this is Uganda's most beautiful park, as its landscapes differ from all the rest of the country. Its expansive savannas blend beautifully into rugged horizons.

Lake Mburo National Park

  Uganda's Most Beautiful Safaris

While Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda's largest, Lake Mburo National Park is the smallest of the country's 10 national parks, covering 370 km². And unlike the isolated and lesser-known Kidepo park, Lake Mburo National Park is better known among travel agencies and is growing increasingly popular. Why, you might ask? Because it's « the only place where you can admire Burchell's zebras as well as impalas and Cape elands (Africa's largest antelope) ».

To better appreciate your safari, try the essential Game Drive to encounter park wildlife. Walking safaris, night safaris, horseback rides… there's plenty to diversify your activities in the park. Spice up your Uganda adventure further with a 2-hour cruise on the splendid Lake Mburo.
