Our story
Mapendano Voyages was born from a deep commitment to the Africa of the Great Lakes, its highland forests, its savannas and its peoples. The agency continues a longer adventure that began on the safari trails of East and Central Africa in 1986.
The agency opened its Ugandan base in Entebbe in 2000. It is part of the Mapendano Voyages group, whose headquarters is registered in Kigali, Rwanda, and which operates a second office in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo. This triangular footprint allows the design of itineraries that transcend borders — from Queen Elizabeth National Park to the gorillas of Bwindi, from the Virunga volcanoes to the shores of Lake Kivu — with the same team and the same commitment to consistency.
On the ground, Charles is the English-speaking face of the agency in Uganda: attentive and responsive, he builds itineraries alongside travelers. Ange, Rwandan, has been managing sales and bookings for several years; she is often the first point of contact. Paula, regularly praised by travelers, supports program design. Around them, experienced English-speaking guides and drivers take over once on the trails.

Yes, as much as possible. Changes made more than 30 days before departure are generally free of charge (excluding hotel rate differences). As your departure approaches, some bookings become less flexible — we always inform you of your options before confirmation.
